    Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my PDF get?

Scanned documents typically shrink by 50 to 90 percent. The exact savings are shown on every result, so you can try a different strength and re-run in seconds.

Why is the text no longer selectable after compressing?

The compressor re-renders every page as an image, which is what makes scanned files so much smaller. If you need selectable text, keep the original alongside the compressed copy.

How do I get a PDF under an email attachment limit?

Try Balanced first and check the size on the result. If it is still too big, re-run with Strong; a typical scan lands well under common 10 to 25 MB limits.

Why did my text-only PDF get bigger?

Text-only PDFs are already tiny; turning their pages into images adds data instead of removing it. Compression pays off on scans and files full of photos.
